We had a great turnout yesterday for the club
meeting. In fact we had so much to do that we could not get it all
done. So next month we are going to finish up our map reading, and learn
how to plot our position on a map, and then how to plot an 8-digit grid coordinate, and then how to use the terrain to help us get there the fastest. Our next club meeting will be on the 28th of June from 1800 to 2100 at Glen Canyon Park. The focus will be orienteering. Remember to bring your foil dinner, your knife, a water bottle, good hiking shoes, your folder with your map (if you got one at last night's meeting), a mechanical pencil, a light jacket, and a friend.
I also updated our website to include an Orienteering section in the store. You can find the protractors there along with some really good compasses. the website is www.wildjakes.com or you can go to Ranger Joe's and look for them there.
